The Club is an incorporated association and has a Constitution that was last revised in 2015. The management of the Club rests with an Executive Committee of up to 13 members, who are elected annually at an Annual General Meeting. The members of the Executive include a President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, an Activities Officer and a Membership Officer as well as general committee members.
There are a number of Sub-Committees which report to the Executive Committee covering all of the Club’s activities including the operation of the Mt Buller Lodge and the Mt Donna Buang Hut.
The Activities Officer coordinates the work of many other members and is responsible for drawing up the annual walks program, which usually includes more than 100 walks each year. Leaders for each walk are appointed and are responsible for the exploration and conduct of the walk. Leaders report numbers and names of attendees to the Membership Officer.
Each year the member who spent the greatest number of days walking in Club events is recognized as the winner of the "Golden Boot" award.
